Our Deacons
At Eastview, we are also served by our team of deacons. These helpers are given responsibilities by the elders (Acts 6:3) in order to use their God-given abilities (Rom 12:6-8) in ways which help the congregation. Our current deacons are Jerry Harrold, Jamie Richardson, Troy Smith, and JD Souder.
Jerry Harrold and his wife Wanda were a part of the Eastview congregation when the doors opened in 1976. Jerry has been a deacon since 2012. Jerry is responsible for some building maintenance, as well as making sure all public worship participants are prepared for their contributions.
Jamie Richardson moved to Eastview in 2004 with his wife Melissa and daughter Raegan. He was added to the team of deacons in 2016. He takes care of the baptistery maintenance and exterior groundskeeping.
Troy Smith is Eastview's longest-serving deacon, having held that position since 2010. He and his wife Melanie and son Cameron have been a part of the Eastview family since 1999. Troy is responsible for the audio components of our worship services, as well as some interior repairs.
JD Souder first came to Eastview in 1999. He is now joined by his wife Esther and children Karen and Timothy. JD was appointed to be a deacon in 2019, and is currently responsible for the church website and worship visuals.
